  • We have a number of these in different colors. The plastic is much harder than an Ikea one we had and threw out. The rubber hasn't flaked or deteriorated after years of use, and both the top surface and the rubber on the feet are as skid proof as you can reasonably expect without it actually being adhesive.

I wouldn't put much stock in the reviews that say this tips easily and should have a broader base. Obviously there is a tradeoff with respect to the "footprint" and height of the stool, and if you want to make something entirely tip proof, it'll be either extremely low and not useful, or take up a lot of floor area, or be bolted to the floor. This stool strikes a good balance. It is great for kids with normal coordination skills ages 3 and up and can be used by younger kids too with supervision. But it's from Amazon, not Hogwarts, so don't expect it to magically keep your toddler from ever falling.

  • Our 2 year old has been interested in what we are doing when we brush our teeth and wash our hands, so I though this step would help him reach the sink so that he can join in. It doesn't quite get him there. If he reaches as much as he can, he can get the tips of his fingers under the faucet, but can't reach the handles. That doesn't take away from the quality of the stool. It will work great for him when he gets a little taller and it seems well made. Its also not terribly bulky so it won't take up a lot of space in small bathrooms.

  • We needed a step for the 4yo and 6yo to reach the bathroom sink faucet handles and not be dangerous. The requirement was also to NOT protrude too far away from the sink in that the door would strike the stool as you enter the bathroom.

Before this stool, we stool, we had a common two-step model (wood, cute, for kids) that regularly got hit and cause one to nearly trip when you enter the bathroom.

Now, kids can safely reach the faucet, door is nearly 3 inches missing the stool and we no longer come close to tripping. The top surface is 'rough' and one would not slide off easy. If you are too tall and lean forward too far, your child may flip the stool and potentially fall. But for the most part and our specific use-case, its perfect. It sticks to the floor well and does not slide around.

    Recommended. Would purchase again.

  • I purchased this item last week and I was not sure if I got the right stool. Because the stool I got had no logo of the bear. It was plain white stool. Even there is no company's signature on the stool either.

  • This is the best toddler stool I have ever seen. We ordered the gray and white model as it seemed most neutral color to work in our bathroom. Our 4 year old grandson is about 40" tall and this stool allows him to reach the faucet in the bathroom easily. The best thing is the non-skid service on the top of the stool (where little people feet stand) and the feet of the stool (where the stool touches the floor). Feet can be wet, sandy or dirty and your toddler will not slip. Also the stool will work well on either bathroom rug or hard flooring. The stool is also lightweight enough for our little guy to pick it up and carry it to his closet where he uses it to reach some of his treasures. We have a wooden stool in the downstairs bathroom for the grandkids to use but they have been known to wobble or topple off. I plan to replace it with another babybjorn stool. Great product!!

  • With four kids (the oldest being 4 yo), we have five of these throughout the house. Yes, it's most commonly used in the bathrooms for the toilet and sink but the kids also use this in our kitchen and bedrooms. In fact, we know we need more when we see them carry these around from room to room!

Why do we keep buying these?

    -HEIGHT-
Seems to be the perfect height to ensure a balance of safety and function. My 36" 4 yo can reach sink hardware easily. My 28" 2 yo can use it to reach the water in the sink.

    -STURDINESS-
These are incredibly sturdy. After years of regular use, they still look brand new and have not deteriorated in any way. Unlike another review I read, I find it hard to tip these over. You have to try to tip them over or be very careless (if the kids don't place their entire feet on the step). These are meant for kids but can easily support me (170 lb).

    -SAFETY-
With rubber grips on the feet, they don't move around at all on tile, hardwood, or carpet. Not only do they have rubber on the feet but the step is also rubberized. My kids have never slipped on these and they use them daily. Additionally, all corners are rounded.

    -DESIGN-
They do not look as nice as wooden steps in my opinion but since they are plastic, they are easy to clean. All of ours are white and none of them have discolored. They look at home as part of a toddler's bathroom but look a little out of place in other rooms of the house.

    -RECOMMENDATION-
All my kids love these, including our 18-month old climber. We continue to buy these when we need more steps. Buy and sleep well knowing you have safe, functional step that will easily outlast your child's needs.
